'Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most valuable inheritance of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow.' - Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Currently teaching in... the Silver Coast area of Portugal.

Adventures on and off the mat, traveling as a yoga-doing practising artist, solidify my belief that a creative and empowering life is available to everyone. My aim is to encourage others to expand their perspectives with self-belief and creativity.

Emphasis is on a practice with awareness, drawing on the power of the breath and experience in the present to cultivate compassion, not competition.

Classes begin with breathing exercises, flow through a rejuvenating sequence of Asana that move the joints through their healthy ranges of motion, building both strength and flexibility in the muscles, and close with 15 minutes of deep relaxation.

In private sessions I work with the individual to create a practice to suit their needs and goals, whether for a specific physical problem or injury, anxiety, trouble sleeping, depression, or a yoga practice to help other practices, golf to gardening...

Yoga should be accessible to all and not determined by cost, or changes in an individual's financial situation. All of my classes are run on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis with a donation pot (payments are anonymous). As a guide, the average paid for a 1hr30 group class is between €7.50 and €12, and for a 1hr30 private class, between €20 and €40.

My yoga journey begun in 2010, determined to beat the family's 'inflexibility' genes and be able to touch my toes. I have no background in sport or dance and yoga asana definitely did not seem to come naturally to my body. At the time I had a lot of anxiety, which dictated more of my life than I'd have liked it to. As my yoga practice developed, between styles and teachers around London, my fingers got closer to my toes, but I also felt that my mind and body were more in tune, less dominated by the busy anxiety chatter and more connected to a quieter place.

Recognising the difference in myself and witnessing how yoga was helping others, each on their individual and very different journeys, I decided to deepen my knowledge and to learn how to share it. In January 2015 I completed an intensive 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course at Arhanta Yoga Ashram in India. From exceptional teachers, to whom I will always be grateful, I gained invaluable knowledge of Yogic philosophy, anatomy, meditation, pranayama, as well as advancing in my own practice.

To today, with a solidified belief in the quiet yet tremendous healing potential of yoga as a lifestyle, I hope to share the benefits that go far beyond reaching your toes.
